So far in the book Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher Clay has followed Hannah's directions to figure out why she killed herself. This book so far has been very enjoyable to read and so far I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read a modern book. So far Clay has listened to the whole first tape and has started to listen to side A of the second tape. Hannah so far has led Clay all arount town to places including her old house, the school, and the candy store near her house. In the next tape she continues to tell him to go places. In this tape she tells the story of how as a new student she spied on people to learn more about them. She even stooped as low as peeping in peoples windows to see them more and to learn about them. She tells a story of how one time she was almost caught looking through someone's window but luckily they had bushes and she jumped into them to avoid being seen. Though she does many wierd things like spying on people and looking at them through windows she seems to ultimately be a normal human being with weaknesses and strengths.

January 7 post

I am now on to the second chapter of Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and so far it has been a good read. The second chapter is the second side of the first tape made by Hannah before she died. This tape was made for a boy named Alex Standall who she says had a small part in why she killed herself. She says he had a part in her death because he voted her to have the best a** in freshman class. As the tape progresses Hannah explains that she was on a list that Alex wrote that rated her with a better a** than Jessica Davis who was very mad that this happened. To elaborate Hannah explains that she thinks that she was not high on the list because of good things but because Alex wanted revenge on Jessica Davis. On the first side of the second tape Hannah says that she was not the only new kid at school in her first year. She says that Alex Standall and Jessica Davis were also new. She says they were not friends but they all relied on each other for help in the first few weeks of school because of their similar situations.

So far in the book Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher Hannah Baker has decided to take her life by overdosing on some sort of pills. She left audiotapes to Clay Jenson in a box on his front door to explain why she killed herself and why he played a part in it. In the box there are seven tapes each with two numbers on it for each side. The tapes have instructed Clay to give the tapes to someone else when he is finished with them and if he refuses to do this all of the tapes will be released in an open and public matter. The first tape starts by talking about Hannah's first relationship Justin Foley. The first tape also talks about how Hannah met her first friend Kat who lived next door to her. It also talks about Hannah playing basketball with Kat and Justin to pick up skills for the next school year. Hannah also states in her tape that Justin was the first person to get her number at her new school. After I have read the first chapter I am suprised to find that I actually like this book. At first it seemed weird but now I like it because of the strange changes of point of view and description of what happens to Hannah as she is alive.
