In the Davinci code Robert Langdon has started investigating the murder and the mysterious message that the victim left behind. He receives a message from Sophie which is very helpful to him. Soon after he learns that he himself is a suspect because of his meeting with the victim that was cancelled. He also learns of a tracking device that was planted on him but he decides to keep it with him. Sophie also tells him that the message read, "P.S. Find Robert Langdon." but the police erased it before he got there. He then learns that the victim was Sophie's grandfather but they weren't very close. Though Langdon knows much about the victim he still does not have any leads on where to search to uncode the message. Sophie also believes that the "P.S." in the message means princess Sophie which is what her grandfather called Sophie until they had their falling out which has not been described in the book yet.

So far in the DaVinci Code by Dan Brown the protagonist Robert Langdon has gotten the call to go to the louvre to investigate a gruesome murder. He has taken the call and has arrived at the museum to find that the victim has contorted his body into a strange shape that has significance. He got the call because he is one of the most renound symbologists in the world and no one can figure out what the body shape means and they need his help deciphering it's meaning. They also need someone to find the murderer which Langdon can help with because he has a lot of experience from the previous book Angels and Demons. The first thing that Langdon does after he sees the body is decipher the message the the victim left behind and he has to explain it to the police cheif who is not an expert on codes like Langdon is. Though Langdon is a big expert on symbols he has a hard time with the code the victim left behihnd and it takes him a long time to even figure out what it means.

The novel I chose to read is The Davinci Code. I chose this novel because I have already read Angels and Demons and i liked it a lot. The protagonist in the book is Robert Langdon. He is a professor of symbology at Harvard. So far in the book he seems to be very honest. He also seems to be very successful at his job. It is interesting that he studies religion but does not even have a religion himself. Another interesting thing to note about Robert is that he is very poor in the use of guns and he handles them very clumsily which could come up later in the book. This may be because he never thought about handling a gun and he would rather focus on studying ancient artifacts than escaping from captors. It seems so far that Robert is the brains of the operation while Sophie helps him solve puzzles and contains the survival skills that they both need to solve the case.
